PACER Testing in PE

The Thunder and Lightning students are working hard! In physical education classes, we have been working on our basketball unit and becoming more familiar with the rules and pace of play. As the weather begins to change, we will begin focusing on developing our cardiovascular fitness. The students will work on increasing their flexibility, core strength, and muscular endurance. We will work as a team during dynamic stretching drills and timed runs throughout the winter. This unit reaches an apex when the students participate in the PACER (Progressive Aerobic Cardiovascular Endurance Run) test.

Additionally, students will work on a volleyball unit where the focus will be on developing the fundamental skills of the sport in order to translate their skills into regulation game situations. Each student will have the opportunity to work on forearm passes (bump), overhand passes (set), and serving.
