Take a sneak peek into the what a morning looks like in the Thunder and Lightning class. I sat down with fourth grade student Noah, who shared his first impressions about his morning routines.
WHAT DOES YOUR MORNING LOOK LIKE WHEN YOU GET TO SCHOOL?
As we are walking in, Mrs. Rachuri is handing us wipes. Then, we go to our lockers and put away our materials like our pencil pouch and lunch bag.
Then we read the morning message. It usually starts with, 'Good Morning Storm Troopers!' The morning message tells us how to get started.
WHAT ELSE DOES THE MORNING MESSAGE SAY?
There is a chart that helps us. It gives us the directions. I can choose what to complete first.
We also answer a question. Today was, 'What would you want your super power to be?'
WHAT DID YOU CHOOSE?
I chose sleep.
WHY DO YOU ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS?
We use it for math. We collect data and are making many graphs with the data.
We then get working on MUG (mechanics, usage, and grammar) and POD (problem of the day) work.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF YOUR MORNING IN T&L?
We do really fun greetings! Today we used "Fancy Talks." A long time ago people greeted each other in a very proper way. So we say, "Good Morning" using a fancy voice and shake hands with a partner. Morning greetings are really fun and we have a lot of energy!
