The Sisters Grimm
It all starts when Sabrina and Daphne Grimm move to Fairy Port Landing, NY. In Sabrina's opinion, it's the most boring place in the world! Especially when their supposed-to-be-dead grandmother, Relda Grimm, shows up and brings them to her house in the country. Daphne is totally convinced that everything is perfectly fine/safe, Sabrina isn't.
For dinner that night, Granny Relda makes black spaghetti and orange meatballs! She says it's just a special recipe. For breakfast they have pancakes with pink syrup...
But the day after Granny Relda picks them up, a few super weird things start happening. First, Granny Relda brings them to a crushed house and says that a giant stepped on it! Then they go to the hospital to see the man that lived in the house and is injured. Afterward, they see these three guys who try to attack them for some reason. They decide to followed the three guys back to their hideout (they turn out to be bandits). But what a surprise it is when the mayor turns up?!
Sabrina then decides that it's a good time to run away; she pulls Daphne out of the car. Suddenly, a (the) giant shows up! He picks up the car, looks at it, and puts it in his pocket. That's when Sabrina realizes that it's all true.

Stranded, by Jeff Probst
Vanessa, Buzz, Carter, and Jane stranded on an island. It was supposed to be a trip for the kids to bond, instead…they got caught in a storm and eventually crashed into two rocks. What really got me interested was that at the end of the book you didn’t know if the kids got rescued or not. This book had me on the edge of my seat because I didn’t know what was going to happen. I think that the subject of this book was getting along and working together. This book is great for people who like adventure and excitement. Stranded is great and I enjoyed reading it very much.

Tomboy of the Air, by Julie Cummins
Blanche Stuart Scott was the first woman to fly a plane. Some people think Blanche started to fly by accident, and other people think she did it on purpose. This is how she made history and fought for women’s rights. Even though people would sabotage her planes because she was a woman—even once one man at a flying meet said to Blanche that she would be killed today—she persevered and kept going. There had been many meets, but one meet Blanche wouldn’t forget. Harriet Quimby the pilot in a plane with the passenger William A.P. Willard. He leaned over to talk to Harriet, since there were sandbags on the plane, one of them shifted. At two thousand feet, the plan tipped and threw Harriet and William into a shallow muddy bay. They both died once they hit the water. Harriet was the first woman to be killed at an aviation meet. The mayor of Boston, John Fitzgerald, told Blanche that aviation was for men and women had no place in it. I don’t think that’s fair because Blanche persevered through all of this and now you are telling her that women don’t have a place in the thing she is most proud of. Even once, Blanche broke 41 bones in her body flying. I recommend this story for people who like drama and adventure. I personally loved this story and I thought it was very interesting and enjoyable. I wrote the parts that were most interesting to me.
