I read the book No Talking by Andrew Clements. It has 146 pages and was published in the
year 2007. I like this book because it is very daring and gripping. There are dares that probably
shouldn’t be allowed in school, but makes for a good and funny laugh. I would recommend this
book to readers who like stories about school.
This book mainly takes place in the Laketon Elementary School. The mood of this book is very
competitive. Why it is so competitive is because this boy in Fifth grade has challenged this girl to
a girls against boys no talking competition.
One of the main characters is Dave Packer. He is very talkative and is also the person who
started the competition. He is also very ill mannered around girls but especially around Lynse
Bergess who is also very talkative and has a disgust in boys.
Dave challenges Lynsey to a no talking contest. If a teacher talks to you, you can only say three
words or less. Any word over is illegal and the other team gets points. Some teachers like it and
some don’t. Soon, the Principal joins and the whole school follows. But the no talking
competition was still on. Read the book to find out which team won!

A Musical Mess from the Nancy Drew series written by Carolyn Keene. It has 73 pages and
was published in the year 2014. I like the book because I like mysteries and Carolyn Keene
writes great mysteries.
The Nancy Drew books are different from other mysteries because Nancy always work in a
group with the same friends. They each have a job to do and they help each other with what
they can do best.
The book takes place in River Heights. Nancy and her friends are pretty good mystery solvers.
But sometimes they can get really silly too which makes it an enjoyable read.
This time Nancy has to solve a very “furry” mystery. The star of a broadway show has been
stolen! But it’s not just any star, it’s Sammy the star dog! But the show is only going to stay in
River Heights for a while, can Nancy and her friends solve it before broadway leaves town?
Nancy Drew is one of the three main characters. Her stylish friend, Bess Marvin is another main
character. She loves clothes and is a pretty good singer. Her cousin, Georgina Fayne is a
techno whiz and likes to go by the name George.
After I read this book, I felt relieved because the story was fast paced and I felt like I was in the
book and I had to solve the mystery with them. It is so exciting that you would want to finish the
book in one sitting.

Despereaux is lots of things, like curious. Like when he saw letters he wanted to know what they were. Also when he heard music he looked for what the sound was. And he is also brave. When in the dungeon to save the princess that was brave. Also it was brave to go with the rat. Despereaux has great traits.

First, there's Reynie (short for Reynard) Muldoon, he's super good at any puzzle, probably a kid that you would like to have with you. Next you will meet Sticky (George) Washington, basically the smartest kid in the world! Can you imagine, a kid that whatever he reads/learns sticks in his brain, that's how he got the nickname Sticky. Next is probably my favorite character, Kate Wetherall. After her father abandoned her (what she thinks) and her mother died, Kate ran away to join the circus. Last of all, there's Constance Contraire, the most stubborn kid in the universe...
They all become the Mysterious Benedict Society when they see a headline in the newspaper; ARE YOU A GIFTED CHILD, LOOKING FOR SPECIAL OPPORTUNITIES? The thing is, it's addressed to children, and only children... There are 3 tests, fewer kids pass as the tests get harder, but the true secret is, they're all basically a puzzle. Finally, there are 4 kids left, they all figured the tests out in different ways. Soon they find out there goal, to stop the whisperer and Mr. Ledropthoa Curtain from taking over the world (the whisperer is a machine used to release messages from children's brains).
It's all really sudden, especially when they find out that they leave for Ledropthoa Curtain's institute, The Learning Institute, for the Very Enlightened (L.I.V.E.) In 2 days.... That's where the adventures begin...

Despereaux is a mouse. A very peculiar mouse. Unlike most other mice he
loves adventure. That’s part of his personality, but as well as being “different” in his
personality he is “different” in his looks. First off, he has huge ears and, compared to
the rest of his body are even bigger, because as you guessed he is tiny! But
nevertheless even though he has a small body he has a big amount of courage. It’s a
wonder it all fits in there!
The tale takes place in the walls of a castle. A mouse is about to be born. But
as soon as he is born the other mice think he is a disgrace to mice kind because he is
so small and because instead of wanting to find crumbs he wants to read! One day
the mice cant stand it anymore so they take him to the council and they decide to
throw him in the dongeon! Can he make it out of the dongeon alive? Will he meet
any new charicters alonge the way? Since I give this book a four star rating you
should definitly read it (and you should read it because you have to!), and what
better way to find out what happens?!

Zero is an extraordinary character. He has many traits but especially he is
affectionate. In many situations he is affectionate like when Stanley was gone taking
the blame for a bag of sunflower seeds Zero dug Stanley’s whole hole! Now that’s
just about Zero you want a summary, right? Well, here you go.
Stanley Yelnats (Stanley backwards) is always in the wrong spot at the wrong
time! Like when Clyde Livingston’s shoes randomly fall from the sky when he’s
walking home from school and people thought he stole them! Then he has to go to a
camp for bad kids because he “stole” the shoes. At the camp you only dig holes! Isn’t
that a little bit suspicious, they’ve got to be making you dig for something. Oh, and
one more thing when you find something “interesting” you’re supposed to show the
Warden (the leader) and if it interests her you might get the day off and get two four
minute showers! There are more interesting moments but you’ll have to figure that
out if you read this book. I give this book a 5 star review because I could hardly put
is down, I read for 2 ½ hours straight twice a day and finished it in two days because
it was so good!
Maura Shaw isn’t just good at coming up with ideas, she’s also good at money off of them. Maura is creative. Take the time when she sold potholders. Did Greg think of that? No. Another time is when Maura starts making The Lost Unicorn series. Greg made comic books, not picture books. A third time Maura was creative is when she was when she makes Greg give her 75% of the profits. Maura isn’t just creative with ideas, she is also creative when comes to getting a fair share.

Despereaux was sent to the dungeon because he was in love with a human which was forbidden. Despereaux would be brave and strong in his attempt to save the princess who was in the dungeon at that moment.
Everything didn't go exactly as Despereaux planned it to. For example, Despereaux couldn't marry the princess. However, they could still be friends for as long as they would like.

Greg Kenton is talented at earning money. This helps him be business-like. One example of this is his family refers to him as “the banker” of the family. That is because he always has a lot of cash in the house if one of his siblings or parents need ten dollars for a movie or anything else. Another time is when he and Maura decide to work together on Chunky Comics, he makes sure he gets his fair share. He makes sure he gets at least 15% of the profits that Chunky Comics earns. The last one is when they go to the school board meeting he changes his idea so everyone including Mrs. Davenport, the Principal. In the end, Greg isn’t just good at earning money, he’s also good at sharing it. Maura Shaw isn’t just good at coming up with ideas, she’s also good at money off of them. Maura is creative. This book is full of interesting and sometimes weird poems. You could tell which poems are strange by just reading the title of it, for example, A Wolf is at the Laundromat. The poems are crazy and sometimes hard to understand and definitely hard to read out loud. For example, they have lots of made-up creatures like Yubbazubbies in the poems.
My favorite poem is Louder than a Clap of Thunder because it's hilarious.
It is about How loud his Dad snores compared to super loud things like a rushing waterfall. I also liked Bleezer’s Ice Cream because there were awkward and disgusting flavors that Enbleezer Bleezer would sell. I didn’t like the end of the book because some things were being repeated. I would recommend this book to a friend because it makes you laugh so hard sometimes you cry.
