Just a Typical Day in STEAM
This STEAM cycle we are learning about earth movements and earth systems. As a part of the study the students are trying out experiments that reflect their learning or show something about the properties of air, water and land. First, though, students had to learn the difference between a demonstration, a model and an experiment. The students even found that a book called 101 Science Experiments, was actually 101 models and demonstrations!
Monday we had a visit from Greg Bartus, an adjunct professor at Stevens Institute of Technology and his colleague, Katherine Soriano who is a science professional development specialist at the Center for Innovation in Engineering and Science Education. They spoke with and advised the student groups on their scientific experimentation process.
