Stranded by Jeff Probst and Chris Tebbetts
This book is nice to read because the authors made it engaging. It’s about a family who goes on a trip to Hawaii. Something happens that I can’t tell you because it will ruin the story, but four kids get stranded and they have to survive. Each of the characters have their own unique survival skills. Jane is a girl who reads a lot of books and knows many things that help them survive. Buzz is a boy who watches a lot of TV, especially survival shows, and he knows how to build a signal fire. They all work together to survive. The book ends on a cliffhanger. I can’t wait to read the next one to see what happens next!
I recommend this book and give it 4.5 out of 5 stars.
Wayside School Gets a Little Stranger
My opinion of this book is that it is really funny and is very well written and described. One reason that I have this opinion is because sometimes when it’s funny, at first you don’t really understand until you think about it.
Another reason is because the chapters aren’t choppy. They sort of flow together and it doesn’t just end and then the new chapter starts. It still goes on but something totally different starts as well as the old thing keeps going.
One last reason I have this opinion is because the author decided to make this book unique and sort of strange. It makes a really good book. I give this book 4 star rating. I recommend that you read it. That is my opinion, reasons, and rating for Wayside School Gets a Little Stranger.
Ragweed
First of all is Ragweed, who is new to the city life. He is rebellious, as he tries his hardest to beat F.E.A.R, Felines Enraged About Rodents, and, spoiler alert, is successful. This only proves that he is also persistent. He risked his life to stay and protect everybody from F.E.A.R! Last but not least, he is smart, seeing how he saved Blinker and himself with his bottle idea. Being new is not always a bad thing!
Next up is Clutch, who is a city life pro, and is, like, totally rad. (That’s how she talks, for people who haven’t read the book.) She is a serious risk taker, since she rides her skateboard everywhere. She is also very smart, as shown when she picks the building that they triumph in. Not to mention she is courageous, as she opened a new club with Ragweed. See how, like, crazy cool she is, dude?
The last hero is Blinker, not a new mouse to the city, but a new mouse to it all the same. He is very smart, as a result of reading many, many books. He is also very appreciative of the world, as he finds it all, even garbage, to be beautiful. Last but not least he is sensitive, both literally and not, as he is a lab mouse, and has a sensitive body, almost as sensitive as his feelings. He was that way because he was a pet in the city the whole time before this.
Next is Silversides, who is a treacherous cat to meet if you’re a mouse. She is mean, as seen when she and Graybar totally trash the Cheese Squeeze Club. She is also dangerous, when, again, they totally trash the Cheese Squeeze Club. And she is easily outwitted, which you may have noticed when she is hit on the nose with a guitar and a skateboard is stuck in her mouth. Treacherous to the bone (even though that isn’t a saying!).
Graybar is a cat who is almost as evil as Silversides, and who is her assistant in F.E.A.R. He is unrefined, since he likes to eat trash, and even offers it to Silversides. He also is an imbecile, and is basically the dumb henchman in Ragweed (the book, not the mouse) that so many fictions have. Last but not least, he was determined, but not as much as Ragweed, and that is partly what lost him not only the battle, but the war. So yeah, not quite as evil as Silversides.
I apologize to the unmentioned heroes: The vole who directed Ragweed, the guards at the Café Independent and Cheese Squeeze Club, and any mice who died in either attack on the clubs. We readers honor you!
The Hardy Boys
The Hardy Boys is a series about two brothers who love solving mysteries. In this particular book they are looking for a smugglers hideout. Fenton Hardy, the boy's father, is a famous detective in the city of Bayport. Fenton has solved many crimes, murders, and mysteries. Fenton is very nice to his sons but is also protective of them and does not want them getting involved with crimes.
Tony, one of the Hardy Boys friends, has a speed boat called The Marine. She came in handy in the boys mystery. It was also good that Tony had a motercicle like the other boys because when they went out to scout out something, he could ride along with them. Tony goes to the Hardy boy's school and is a big fan of Fenton Hardy. Tony is also a good friend of Chet, another one of the Hardy boy's friends.
Chet another one of the Hardys friends, is a chunky stout looking boy. Chet is always scared when they go on adventures. He is especially scared of smuglers. Even though he's always scared, he always wants to go with them. I think that Chet proves to be brave.
Wonder by R. J. Palacio
August Pullman is an ordinary kid. To himself. Nobody else sees him that way because Auggie has a facial deformity. This is hard for Auggie because he is entering fifth grade in a new school for the first time. This book is about people's reactions, August's new friends, Summer and Jack, how people stand up for August, and what Auggie likes and dislikes about his school year.
Poppy by Avi
In this book Mr. Ocax, a great horned owl, thinks he rules Dimwood Forest. He protects a family of deer mice from porcupines; or so he says. And they have to ask his permission every time they want to go somewhere else in Dimwood Forest, apart from their home, Gray House. Which Poppy and Ragweed do not do.
Poppy, a deer mouse, is chosen to go with her father to ask Mr. Ocax if their family can move to New House. And afterwards, she decides to travel to New House to seek the real reason for Mr. Ocax's refusal, which begins an exciting adventure. On which Poppy learns many new things, meets strange new friends, and brings home the good news: "Mr. Ocax is dead!"
A Series of Unfortunate Events
This book was sad because 3 children lost their parents in a fire. They got the news from their neighbor, Mr. Poe. The 3 children's names are Violet, the eldest who loves and wants to invent, Klaus, the middle child who loves books, and Sunny, a 3 year old who loves to bite things. The book is interesting because Count Olaf, their new father wants to put 14 year old Violet in a "fake wedding" as a bride and he's the groom,and he hung poor old sunny out of a 30 foot tower! The book was educational because it had a lot of lessons like don't give away your plan or say that you know someone else's. I recommend this book to kids who like a lot of action because the action in this book starts at the beginning.
Fantastic Mr. Fox by Roald Dahl
Mr. Fox is a fantastic fox. He lives on a hill above three farms: Boggis's farm, Bunce's farm, and Bean's farm, and from which he gets his food.
BUT…
One day the farmers have had enough. They take their guns and hide near Mr. Fox's hole. and that's how Mr. Fox loses his tail. Then Boggis, Bunce, and Bean start to dig up the hole, first with shovels, then with machines. But Mr. Fox is clever. He gets his family to dig as well, and they survive.
The three farmers are FURIOUS. So they decide to wait him out.
It is about three days until Mr. Fox has an idea. Apparently, Mr. Fox knows his way around the farms under the ground, as well as he does over. And he has his four small foxes to help him dig to Boggis's Chicken House Number 1, and along the way they meet badger and his son. After the son runs back to inform all animals who live underground that they are invited to a feast that the foxes are holding, Badger lends a paw and they dig to Bunce's giant storehouse, and Bean's Secret Sider Cellar. And they have a feast!!!
All this time Boggis, Bunce, and Bean had not yet moved from their position around Mr. Fox's hole. And who knows, maybe they're still there?
The Underground Abductor
Harriet Tubman tries to get to freedom. Then tries to get all of her family members to freedom, too. The story is told through the eyes of Nathan Hale who was a spy. The beginning is funny because when Nathan Hale tells the story, he’s talking to an executioner. The executioner says that he hates human suffering. Which is funny because an executioner hangs people and causes suffering. I liked that it was a good story. It was interesting to find out that Harriet Tubman walked all of those miles to get to freedom and then walked all the way back to get family members. I learned how they escaped. They had to hide a lot, sometimes walk through streams. They found people who were against slavery and they had secret tunnels and secret cupboards in their wagons where slaves could hide along the way. I liked how people chose to go against the law because the law was wrong. It is an important part of American History.
Where the Red Fern Grows
This book takes place in Snake River Valley, Idaho and also in the memory of Billy Colman. When Billy was a boy, he told his parents he wanted two dogs, but they couldn’t afford them. So he set off on a journey to go and find two dogs, and he bought two puppies himself and he had to bring them home. They were both Redbone Coonhounds, a boy named Old Dan who was brave and strong and a girl named Little Ann who was very intelligent. When the book is talking about Billy’s past, the other characters are Billy’s Mom, Dad, and sisters, and the story is in the Ozark Valley.
Billy teaches his dogs to hunt raccoons so he can get and sell the fur for money to help his family. They even win in a championship raccoon hunt by killing three raccoons in a terrible blizzard. Billy and the dogs keep on hunting until a mountain lion kills Old Dan and Little Ann dies from starvation and sadness, but luckily they killed the mountain lion before they died. Billy buries both his dogs, but then a red fern grows on both graves and that’s special, because only an angel can plant them. Now that Billy and his family have the money, they move to town.
I liked this book, because Billy wants to help his family and he never stops trying. He really wants two dogs and he works very hard to get them. I think working hard is important, because when you meet your goal, you will feel proud for yourself. This book taught me that love is very powerful, it an endless force, and Billy’s love helps his family. I’d recommend this book to my parents, because if me and my family were in the same situation, then I’d do what Billy did.
The BFG
The BFG is a fun book to read. It’s has a good amount of pages for most readers. It’s about an orphan girl named Sophie who meets a friendly giant. The BFG is a dream catcher. Dream catchers catch dreams and blow them into childrens windows.There is a bunch of nasty giants who eat kids every day.The BFG tries to get away from the nasty giants because they play catch with him and other nasty things.I recommend this book for everybody.
The BFG
The BFG is about a girl named Sophie and the BFG who was a Big Friendly Giant. The BFG was different from the other giants because he didn’t eat humans. The BFG likes to send happy dreams to sleeping children. I liked the part in the book where the BFG showed Sophie all the dreams that he had collected.
Sophie and the BFG have to stop the other giants from eating children in England. During the story the friendship between Sophie and the giant grows.
I enjoyed this book, but some parts of it were hard to understand because the BFG used a lot of crazy words that he made up himself.
Dear Mr. Henshaw by Beverly Cleary
Dear Mr. Henshaw starts with a boy, Leigh writing a letter to Mr. Henshaw his favorite author for a school assignment. At first he writes about how much he likes Mr. Henshaw’s books. Leigh keeps writing letters to Mr. Henshaw after the assignment. He writes about his problems, the things going on in his life that are bothering him. Things like having to move, being the new kid in school, his parents’ divorce and his dad’s new girlfriend for example. He also keeps a journal later in the book.
I like the way the story is told through the boy’s letters and his journal. It’s different from the way most of the other stories I‘ve read are told. I would have liked it even more if they showed one of the letters from Mr. Henshaw to Leigh.
I recommend this book if you are a Beverly Cleary fan, and even if you aren’t you should give it a shot.
Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein
I enjoyed reading Where the Sidewalk Ends. I think everyone could find poems in this book that they would like. Most of the poems were funny and silly and used a lot of very clever work play. Many of the poems have clever twists at the end. One of my favorites was Homemade Boat about a boat that’s almost perfect except for one little thing. I also liked some of the more serious poems like Don’t Tell Me.
The Mouse and the Motorcycle by Beverly Cleary
Ralph is a young mouse who lives in the small hotel that a boy named Keith stays at with his Mom and Dad for a few days. Ralph is looking for fun and excitement and doesn’t always make good choices. They meet when Keith catches Ralph after he tried to sneak a ride on his toy motorcycle. Keith lets Ralph use the motorcycle and matching helmet and even teaches him how to ride it and the two become friends. For a small mouse like Ralph traveling through the hotel is an adventure full of big dangers, like trash baskets and vacuum cleaners.
I thought it was funny when the younger mice ask Ralph to ride the motorcycle and he told them that it wasn’t a toy and they couldn’t play with it.
I especially liked the part when Ralph goes on an adventure to bring Keith an aspirin when Keith is sick and has a fever. This is very dangerous because not only does he have to travel through the hotel, but aspirin is poison for mice. Ralph’s father died from carrying and aspirin in his mouth.
I enjoyed reading The Mouse and the Motorcycle, and I think that others will enjoy Ralph’s adventures and seeing him grow up and learn to be more responsible.
On My Honor by Marion Dane Baurer
I liked this book. It’s about honor and how never to break a promise. It’s also about the lessons people learn when they do break promises. The main character, Joel, learns a big lesson, unfortunately, from a tragedy of losing his best friend. The book takes place at Joel’s house and a river. Also, his best friend’s front yard, where he was forced to face the truth about what happened.
Joel seems like a very honest kid, although, he went to the river when he wasn’t supposed to and he told his dad that he was going to the park. He promised his dad he would only go to the park by saying "on my honor". He made a mistake because his best friend, Tony, drowned in the river. Joel thought he could swim, but he couldn’t. Tony wanted to go swimming in the river, and at first Joel didn’t think it was a good idea, but he did it anyway because he didn’t want to disappoint Tony. He was very scared and depressed when he got home and had to tell the police, his dad, and Tony’s parents what had happened. Tony was Joel’s best friend. They always seemed to agree on what they should do for fun.
I’d recommend this book to kids because it can teach them about honor and honesty and how to face difficult things when you know there will be consequences for your actions. Also, it teaches you that if you hold in the truth, it hurts other people but also it hurts you, because of how it will make you feel. It will make you feel terrible.
Running Out of Time
Running out of time is a book that has many characters, but I will only tell you about the ones that are mentioned most in the book. We will start of with Jessie, she is a curious 13 year old. She likes to do dangerous dares that not even boys do. Then there's Ma, the mother of Jessie. She is basicly the nurse of the area of where they live. There's Pa, who is the blacksmith of the the village, there's Katie, Jessie's favourite sibling, there's Frank Lyle who is mentioned as Mr.Neeley, he's an imposter and an experimenter, who is willing to let children die for his research. And last but not least is Mr.Clifton, who is the founder of Clifton Village. There are so many more but these are the ones you should know.
The plot of this story is super thrilling and exciting. The story is about a thirteen year old girl named Jessie, who has to escape clifton village, a historical reserve of the 1840s to get help. There's a disease in Clifton Village called Diphtheria that can kill you if you don't get medicine, Jessie escaped from Clifton Village in some saved modern clothes, the time outside was 1996 and Jessie had to call someone who was against Clifton Village, to help her. His name was Mr.Neeley, but what Jessie didn't know, is that Mr.Neeley died in car crash, and a man named Frank Lyle was pretending to be him to gain Jessie's trust. Jessie had been through a lot, she's never seen a car or a radio or phone before! When she just got out of Clifton Village, she had to get out of a fence surrounding it, and then she saw an opening, where a truck was getting ready to go, Jessie saw this as an opportunity and she ran inside the truck. She soon got out and began her startling journey to find a phone. She found one and tried to call but "Mr.Neeley" was busy. Then a man scared her by bumping into her. She ran away to find another phone. She found one and called, and she reached him! He said he would come to pick her up! When she got to his place he told her to drink a glass of water that was actually a sleeping drug! However she didn't drink it because she had drank lemonade before he picked her up so she poured it out the window. Then she pretended to be asleep when he peeked inside. Then he got on a phone call and Jessie decided to listen to it to see if was getting help for children in clifton village who had diptheria. But she found out the he was actually talking to another guy, saying that he had 'the girl' and was going to find out as much as he could from her and that they might have to kill her. Jessie was stunned and the next day she escaped. She went downtown and decided to call the board of health with a payphone she found there, like Ma said Mr.Neeley would. But they didn't listen to her because they thought she was prank calling. Then she tried to call a news conference and it worked! She told them everything but then she collapsed. She woke up in the hospital with all her siblings and kids from Clifton Village. But apparently two kids named Abby and Jefferson died of diphtheria before Jessie could call the news conference. The authorities were thinking that the parents wanted the children to die, so they kept the parents away from the kids for questioning. But after that Frank Lyle was arrested and everyone got returned to their parents. So in the end, kids discovered the modern world and everyone was happy! Except Frank Lyle.
I like this book a lot. The funniest part of the book is when Jessie is trying to call Mr.Neeley and keeps talking to the phone when it says, please press one in front of number for long distance call, as if there's a person there, when it's really a recording. I feel Ma's pain when she realizes that she has to explain the future to Jessie, and that it's really hard. In general, I would recommend this book to anyone 8 years old and up. Personally I would recommend this to my cousin Leo. This book is great to read over and over, because it never gets old.
The BFG by Roald Dahl
These are some of the BFG’s character traits. The BFG in which means “Big Friendly Giant” is not an ordinary giant that eats and kills people, he a nice giant who instead of eating people he eats snozzcumbers instead, snozzcumbers are like giant sized cucumbers that only grow in giants country were all the giants live. His hobby his catching dreams in a country were dreams start, he will go there and catch dreams and keep them in jars then at night he will get his trumpet and go to a house, he’ll stick it through a window put a dream in his trumpet and blow a dream into someone. Although he’s a giant, he is pretty small compared to the other fifty foot giants who go to country’s to eat humans every night. He can’t say words right because he never went to school because he was always a big giant and he claims giants don’t come on to the earth by being born, they just appear there so he would say helicopter as bellypoppers but at the end of the story he learns how to speak well. at the end of the story , the BFG made the plan on how to catch the giants so the BFG compared to a lot of giants would be super smart. The BFG has humongous ears and in fact, his ears are so big that he can hear dreams and he catches dreams by hearing them and then catching them with his net. He knows how to mix dreams up to make one hole dream and that’s how he warned the queen of England that giants were coming.
The plot of the story is about a young girl named Sophie and the BFG “Big Friendly Giant”. One night when Sophie couldn’t sleep the BFG herd her breathing and new that she was awake so he quickly grabbed Sophie and carried her to his house in giants country. After that, the BFG and Sophie got to meet and now each other. One day, Sophie and the BFG catch notice of the other giants going to a country to eat people, when Sophie asks the BFG what the other giants are doing and he says they are going to a country. Sophie thought about it and said we should do something about this so Sophie and the BFG made a plan about how to warn the queen of England that they were coming. When they got there and they got to know the queen, the BFG made a plan to capture the giants. When they captured the giants, they put him in the hole the queen made by hiring construction workers to dig it and once the army arrived to the hole with the giants they put them all in the hole and saved the people of England from being eaten.
In my opinion, the book was good because the book in some ways is unique because of how it describes the giants like the BFG. It gives 4th and 5th graders a good read because its easy to read and it has a decent amount of pages. It will easily catch your interest in many ways. Its funny how the BFG speaks because he will pronounce words wrong and say them in a funny way. Its entertaining to see what will happen next. Its funny what the BFG says about snozzcumbers. How the BFG plans to capture the giants. Also its hilarious when the story said that people who drank to much decided to climb the fence and fell in the hole where they put the giants and the giants ate the people who fell in.
Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH
This book takes place on the farm of the Fitzgibbon family and it’s about a family of mice. Mrs. Frisby is the head mouse of the family and she has a big problem, her son Timothy has pnemonia, they’re moving in less than a week, and Timothy is too sick to move. The rats who are another kind of character and they are very intelligent, because they got special skills from humans at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH). There leader is Nicodemus and he wants the rats to help Mrs. Frisby, because Mr. Frisby helped the rats escape from NIMH before Dragon the cat killed him. The last character I want to describe is Justin. Justin saves Mrs. Frisby when she gets captured by Mr. Fitzgibbon’s son Billy.
Mrs. Frisby and her family need to move away from Mr. Fitzgibbon’s plow, because it will ruin their home. She needs help, because her son is sick and can’t be moved. Nicodemus and the rats help her out of respect for Mr. Frisby who was killed by Dragon, Mr. Fitzgibbon’s cat. The rats and mice work together as a team to defeat Dragon so they can finish their job of moving their home. They also trick the humans so they can set up “The Plan”, which is for them to live without humans.
I really liked this book because the story is creative. Usually rats would be mean, but this time they want to help another creature. I think it is a good book to read because the rats have a huge and different kind of home under a rosebush in a farm and you wouldn’t expect it to be so much like the human world. Other kids would like this book because there are funny parts like when Jeremy gets caught in the string and there are scary parts like when people killed mice and rats. The story also talks about how the mice and rats work together to get something done.
Stranded
My first character is Vanessa. Her traits are helpful, oldest and caring. She is helpful because she always helps people to make their idea work. Vanessa is the oldest. Also, she is caring because she looked after Jane who is the youngest even though nobody told her to.
My second character is Carter. His traits are loud, helpful and a good swimmer. He is brave because he was on the deck during the storm. Carter is helpful because he volunteered to look for water. Also Carter is a good swimmer because he was swimming against a current while he was looking with water.
My third character is Jane. Her traits are smart, youngest and quiet. Jane is smart because she always has ideas and information. She is the youngest out of the four. Also she is quiet because she is never noticed when she walks in and out of the rooms.
The BFG
It is an ordinary can't-sleep night for Sophie. The moon is shining right on her pillow, so she decides to close the curtains. But first she pokes her head out the window and breathes in the cool, fresh night air.
Then she stops, and jumps back into bed. She has just saw a person coming up the street. A giant person. Then Sophie is whipped out of the asylum(bedclothes, too) and the giant carrys her off into the night.
Hang on, make that Giant Country, where Sophie learns that the giant's name is the BFG, or the Big Friendly Giant, and also learns about the nine bone-crunching giants: The Fleshlumpeater, The Bonecruncher, The Manhugger, The Childchewer, The Meatdripper, The Gizzardgulper, The Maidmasher, The Bloodbottler, and The Butcher Boy. Along with that, she learns that their names suit them well; every night they gallop off to somewhere in the world to eat humans:
"Where is you off tonight?" shouted the BFG.
"We is all of us flushbunking off to England tonight," answered The Fleshlumpeater as they went galloping past. "England is a luctuous land and we is fancying a few nice little English chiddlers."
When Sophie hears this, she makes up her mind to stop the Giants. Which includes sitting on the Queen's windowsill, digging a pit, and transporting the giants by helicopters.
Amaze Me
Poems are one of those books where you have to think about what you just read.In one poem a little girl said “I hate you but I love you”. I thought that’s the one that’s the one that you should really think about. The poem really gets into your mind and makes you think of how people can explore poems. When I write poems I’m sad or happy. The person who wrote all of these amazing poems, their mind was very observing.
The Magic Finger
Even though it was a short book, it had a lot of meaning. Like to not hunt and to not call your students stupid. Out of four books, I liked this one the most. This book taught you about lessons. This book had three different meaning. One about being bad. Two there’s always a consequence, and three trying new things.
THE BFG
I thought every page made me giggle. Sophie amazed me, because when the BFG was talking about her parents she did not cry. I loved even though Sophie and the BFG went to four different places the book was still very interesting. Hearing how tall and how nice the BFG was, I would really want to meet the BFG. I feel like Roald Dahl had to add more details about the BFG. I also loved when the BFG said “am I right or am I left.” because the BFG had a sense of humor but did not know it!
Fantastic Mr. Fox
I wish Roald Dahl told more about the people that the children meet. I loved the ending, when they came all together to have a feast. I feel like this book I understood a lot. The mom wasn’t in a lot of scenes but when she was in the scenes they were long. To me, there were three things happening. First, the bad guys were trying to kill Mr. Fox. Second, the mom was cooking for the feast. Third, the dad and the kids were trying to get the food.
Fantastic Mr. Fox
Fantastic Mr. Fox is a funny book written by Roald Dahl. Quentin Blake’s illustrations are messy, in a good way. Fantastic Mr. Fox is mostly a fantasy book. The plot of the story is very funny.
The main characters are Mr. Fox, Boggis, Bunce and Bean. Mr Fox is brave, happy, clever and, of course, fantastic! Boggis is a fat chicken farmer. Bunce is a pot bellied dwarf and a duck and goose farmer. Bean is a lean turkey and apple farmer with a cider problem.
I like this book because there are so many surprises!. Boggis, Bunce and Bean all have really weird and unnatural hobbies. I would say that the weirdest and funniest part was when Roald Dahl describes them! Fantastic Mr. Fox is related to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory because they both have funny songs in them! I relate to Mr. Fox because we are both very clever!
I really recommend this book to people that like action. It is a very fast paced story. People who do not like fantasy will not like this book. Most of the characters are talking animals. This book is Fantastic!!
BFG
BFG is written by Roald Dahl and illustrated by Quentin Blake. The BFG is a very adventurous book with a lot of fantasy elements. The pictures fit well with the book. They are very detailed. The BFG is a very exciting book.
The main characters are Sophie, the BFG, the giants and the Queen of England. Sophie is a young girl. The BFG is a big friendly giant. The other giants are bad because they eat people. The Queen is the monarch of England.
There are three settings in the story. The settings are England, Giant Country and Dream Country. The settings are very different from each other. Roald Dahl uses descriptive words to describe the settings. I like that this story mixes real life and fantasy.
I recommend this book to people that like funny and magical stories! One funny part of the book is the made-up words like “frobscottle” and “whizzpoppers.” A magical part of the story is Giant Country. I do not recommend this book for people that like boring books. This book is astonishing, incredible, unbelievable, and surprising!

Frindle is a hilarious book . It is written by Andrew Clements. Brian Selznick is the illustrator. The genre of the book is realistic fiction. The ending of the book is surprising.
The two main characters are Nick Allen and Mrs. Lorelei Granger. Nisk is a smart troublemaker. He is also brave and creative. Mrs. Grnager is a strict 5th grade Language Arts teacher. She is hard on her students because she wants them to be the best that they can be.
I like Frindle because it is funny. The funniest part of the story is when Nick comes up with the word “Frindle.” This book is not like any book that I have ever read. A connection I made was the Mrs. Granger is like my nanny, Wiola. They are both strict yet kind.’
I recommend this book to people who like funny stories about school. I do not recommend this book to people that do not like realistic stories. This story could happen in real life. Frindle is worth reading because it is very interesting. You should definitely read this book!

I like this book because it is amazing. It was amazing because Shirley Temple Wong made so many friends in so little time. I never read anything like this before. Shirley Temple Wong is similar to me because she likes sports too. I can also relate to Shirley because I know what it is like to go to a new school
I recommend this book to all people that like baseball because the author writes a lot about baseball. I do not recommend this book to people that don’t like baseball. This book is not fantasy. This book is epic!!
