Camp Bernie Reflections
We built rafts!
We walked in the dark without flashlights!
We crossed the low ropes course!
We caught crayfish!
Monday morning Mrs. McCallihan asked who did something brave when we were at Camp Bernie.
Some of us stood up to show that was true for us.
Then a student reminded us that bravery doesn't mean that we weren't afraid. Bravery can only happen when we are scared and we do the thing anyway.
Mrs. McCallihan asked again, "Who was scared and did something anyway? Who was brave?"
Almost every one of us stood up when she asked that question.
During our greeting on Monday we shared one positive thing about Camp Bernie:

You will notice we thought a lot about the food! It wouldn't be an overnight trip if the first reflection wasn't mostly about food; it seems like talking about food first is a norm.)
